What is Paparazzi Accessories? 

Paparazzi is a Direct Sales and Party Plan Company, which specializes in affordable, fashionable accessories. We sell earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, hair clips and head bands… all for $5.00 each! 

Two sisters opened Paparazzi in December 2010 in Utah. Their goal and mission is to bring self-confidence, empowerment and independence to women and families all over the world. They seek to fulfill this mission through the following avenues:

  • First, they seek to offer women an affordable option to be fashionable and feel great.
  • Second, they offer a real home-based business opportunity – independent of “recruiting” friends and neighbors. Independent Consultants of Paparazzi are able to carry inventory, host home parties, basket parties, invite associates, have fun, and sell their inventory directly to the customer. Consultants are able to sell as much and as often as they would like.
  • Third, they offer future independence through the Paparazzi Compensation Plan by Consultants training others to be successful. This gives each Consultant the ability to build a long-term residual income, giving them a potential for real independence. 

 Can I change sponsors?

You only have 3 business days to call Paparazzi @ 855-697-2727 to change sponsors,after that you cannot. Therefore, is so IMPORTANT that you do your research, ask all the questions, and not just go with the first person you approach.  Ask them who their Elite up-line is, what benefits you get if you join their team? What kind of resources can you receive?  Yes, ultimately is YOUR job to build your business, but it does helps to have all the resources at your fingertips.

What do Hostesses Earn?

The company offers 10% in retail sales for hostesses and we are compensated 2 free pieces for every 20 we buy for our cash and carry inventory.

Can I see a catalog or order online as a customer?

Although we do not have catalogs, we have just launch our Replicated Site Shopping Cart! All customer have the option to purchase online through her consultant’s free site or a hostess’s online party now! All orders are subject to $5.95 shipping and local state tax. Each consultant orders their own inventory and Paparazzi is always changing their products to keep up with the fashion and trend, so there are no catalogs available. There is always NEW inventory! Our customers buy what we have in stock in home parties and cash and carry events.

What is the jewelry made from?

Paparazzi uses a blend of metals to make all our jewelry. The products are primarily made of iron, but do include other trace minerals. Those trace minerals are made up of a metallic alloy or either zinc, steel, aluminum, or copper.


Does the Jewelry turn your skin green? 

Some people seem to think (and say) "oh that 'cheap' jewelry turns my skin green".  That couldn't be further from the truth.  The fact is that your skin turning green (or any other color) is based on your own body's ph, not jewelry. medications can change your body's ph, lotions, etc, can make a difference as well.  Expensive jewelry can cause the very same reaction too.  And by-the-way... expensive jewelry does NOT mean it's "real gold or silver"... it can simply mean it's overpriced costume jewelry.

Do I Have to Purchase My Display or Marketing Items from Paparazzi?

Absolutely not! As an Independent Consultant, you are allowed to use the Independent Consultant logo as you wish. You can make your own business cards, banners, posters, flyers, etc.  You can also make your own displays or purchase them from wherever you want. It's completely up to you. -- You cannot, however, alter the logo in any way.

As a Consultant, can I charge more than $5 plus tax for the products?

Paparazzi Consultants may not sell Paparazzi Accessories for less than the mandated prices of $5, and $25.  (Zi Collection is $25.)  Paparazzi is known as the $5 jewelry company and all brand marketing supports this price point. Paparazzi recommends always using the mandated prices, even for fundraisers. If Paparazzi Accessories are sold above the mandated prices, Consultants are solely responsible to consult with their local tax advisors as to whether they have thereby incurred sales tax liability and, if there is liability, to remit the sales tax (on the difference between the mandated prices and the actual sales prices) to their state sales tax commissions.

What About Sales Tax?

You will be charged sales tax on the retail value of each piece you order. Paparazzi is required to do this. This is intended to ensure that each state tax agency is made whole on any potential sales from the transactions of that wholesale product. The sales tax is charged at the local level of the place where the order is shipped. Paparazzi collects these taxes at the time of wholesale inventory purchase and remits it to the state on behalf of the Retail Sale that the Consultant may now have.

This also allows the Paparazzi Consultant the option of charging their local taxes on their Customer transactions and recuperate that cost, or absorbing it into their business structure; while at the same time not bringing any uncovered sales tax liability on Paparazzi or the Consultant.

Paparazzi is required by the IRS to issue a Form 1099 to all Consultants who have received $600 or more in commissions each year.

Consultants must ensure all information on their accounts is accurate. To ensure each 1099 is consistent with IRS records, the TIN (taxpayer identification number) on each Consultant’s account must be accurate and match the name on the account. For example, if a Consulant’s personal name is on the account, the TIN must be the Consultant’s SSN, not an EIN.

If this information is not correct, the IRS may assess a fine to Paparazzi, which will be passed on to the Consultant. A Consultant’s failure to pay the IRS fine will result in the cancellation of the Consultant’s account. Inaccurate information (TIN, name, birth date, etc.) may also jeopardize the Consultant’s account.

As independent contractors, Consultants should keep their own business records for expenses, sales, commissions, etc., for income tax purposes.

General Sales Tax Information: 

Paparazzi does not provide tax or legal advice. Please contact a tax or legal professional with any questions about taxes.  

Pursuant to 8.3 Sales Tax, Paparazzi collects and remits sales tax and consumer use tax (referred to herein as “sales/use tax”) from Consultants when they purchase Paparazzi Accessories at wholesale and those Accessories are shipped to a state or locality that assesses sales/use tax on Paparazzi’s products. Paparazzi will not collect sales/use tax from Consultants if they provide Paparazzi with documentation of a valid exemption (such as a resale permit) on or before the time of their purchase.

Paparazzi has Consultants in all fifty states and all US Territories. Sales/use tax laws are complex and vary by state and locality. Paparazzi Consultants are independent contractors and are responsible for their own business practices and tax issues. Further, every Consultant is required to comply with all state and federal laws (see Section 6.6 Laws and Ordinances). Consultants should consult a tax advisor regarding all tax matters. If Consultants are collecting sales tax from their customers, they are responsible to comply with the requirements of their taxing authorities. This would include filing any sales/use tax reporting forms to their tax authority - documenting what sales/use taxes they have collected, as well as sales/use taxes they have already paid and for which they may receive a credit on sales/use taxes owed.

Section 8.3 is not intended to provide legal advice about Consultants’ rights and responsibilities for collecting and remitting sales tax. Paparazzi is not suggesting or recommending that Consultants should collect sales tax without remitting it to their states. Instead, Section 8.3 highlights for Consultants’ consideration (and subject to discussions with a tax advisor) that certain states provide opportunities for Consultants to offset sales tax already remitted to their states by Paparazzi.

As an illustrative example, certain states permit a tax-paid credit to taxpayers as an offset to sales or use taxes that they collect in the course of doing business. If the state where a Consultant conducts business permits such a credit, the sales tax paid by the Consultant to Paparazzi (and that Paparazzi has remitted to the Consultant’s state) may be available as a credit to offset the sales tax that the Consultant collects from customers. If available, Consultants essentially recover the sales tax remitted by Paparazzi to their states by filing for and claiming a credit to offset the sales tax collected from their customers.

This is merely an illustrative example and Paparazzi does not state whether this credit is available to all Consultants in the states where they conduct business. Paparazzi strongly recommends that Consultants consult a tax advisor on the tax laws in the states where they conduct business so that they apply the law (including available exemptions, credits, and rates) to their business activities. 

Please note that even though Paparazzi collects and remits sales tax paid by Consultants when ordering from Paparazzi, it is the Consultant’s responsibility to comply with any and all requirements regarding sales tax, including filing any reports, etc. as may be required by your state.

Paparazzi does not provide tax or legal advice to Consultants. If you have any questions about sales tax or what your state requires, you should contact a tax advisor.

Calculation of Sales/Use Taxes

The sales/use tax collected by Paparazzi from the Consultant is based on the following formula: 

The retail sales price of Paparazzi Accessories multiplied by the state and local sales tax rate for the location to which the Accessories Paparazzi products are shipped.

Sales Tax on Consultants’ Sales Outside City or State

Consultants who sell Paparazzi Accessories to customers in a different state should contact a local tax advisor with questions regarding sales tax.

Sales/Use Tax Exemption 

Paparazzi will not collect sales/use tax from Consultants who provide documentation evidencing a valid exemption (such as a resale certificate) on or before the time the Consultant makes a purchase from Paparazzi. Consultants should contact a local tax advisor and/or state tax authority for information on obtaining and completing the necessary paperwork to obtain a valid exemption. Requirements may vary from state to state.

Tax exemption documentation must be submitted to and approved by Paparazzi before the exemption will be granted. The tax identification number and the name on the exemption paperwork must match the tax identification number and name on the Consultant’s account. Documentation should be emailed to support@paparazziaccessories.com, and it may take several business days to process. Any orders placed before Paparazzi approves the exemption will be subject to sales tax.

Consultants who are approved for tax exemption on Paparazzi purchases will be responsible to report and pay their own sales tax obligations to their respective states.

Vendor Events  

If a Consultant has signed up for a vendor event and the event coordinator requires a state sales/use tax certificate, the Consultant can email support@paparazziaccessories.com for a copy of the sales tax certificate issued to Paparazzi by the state in which the Consultant resides. 

Potential Sales Tax Liability

Paparazzi does not collect sales tax on free Accessories that are given to Consultants, including, but not limited to, Hostess Rewards, free Life of the Party Accessories, and Accessories given away at Paparazzi-sponsored events. If Consultants choose to sell these Accessories, they should contact a tax professional concerning potential sales tax liability and sales/use tax laws in their state.


Does Paparazzi Withhold Taxes?

No. You are solely responsible for reporting the income you make from your Paparazzi business. You will receive a 1099 or similar form from Paparazzi at the end of the year to assist you with your tax filing.

* * * Make sure to keep track of ALL your expenses: mileage, food, postage, office supplies, etc. Even the cost of the inventory you purchase! These are important costs of doing business and as a consultant, you will own your own business. Be sure to take advantage of all the tax deductions you are legally allowed! * * *

Do I Need A Vendors License?

These laws vary by municipality. Your local municipality may or may not require it, so it is a good idea to check with your local government.

However, when you are signing up for and event, you will sign up under your name and Paparazzi Accessories as the company.  As a consultant, you are permitted to use Paparazzi's Tax ID number to register for any events. To get the Tax ID number for your state, ask your sponsor or call Paparazzi's corporate office to get the number specific to your state.

What is the Guarantee?

As far as when you are selling to your customers through the website, their request for return must be made within 10 business days of receipt to be eligible for a full refund. To initiate a return, the customer must contact Paparazzi Support at (855) 697-2727 to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Upon approval, a shipping label will be provided to the customer.

When you receive your inventory shipment from Paparazzi, you have three (3) days to look it over and notify them if anything is broken and not repairable.

Most items are repairable, simply by squeezing shut a jump ring (these are the small, circular rings used in most jewelry making processes). 

As a Consultant, how much money can I make?

Consultants order all jewelry and accessories for $2.75/per adult item, which you sell for $5.00 each.  You earn a 45% PROFIT off each piece of jewelry and hair accessory you sell. You can also earn commissions from your team members and their down line; 5% commission is earned from each consultant until you have 3 active, then you will start earning 10% commission for every jewelry order they place with Paparazzi. If they sign up consultants too, you earn 5% of their orders as well. As you advance in rank you are eligible for even more commissions. Read the “Commission Plan” for more details.

Maintaining Active Consultant Status:

Order at least 200 PV (100 pieces) of inventory within the previous 12 consecutive calendar months.

You do NOT have to order every month. However, to be eligible for commissions from your down line, you must purchase at least 50 PV (25 pieces or 5 packs) per month, but it’s not required. (5 pieces)  = $68.75 (25 pieces) If, for some reason, you couldn’t order a particular month you won’t lose your team members, unless it’s been over a year. 

Can I Choose the Items I get in my Starter Kit?

How Much is Shipping?

When you order your inventory from Paparazzi, you will have a flat rate shipping fee of just $5.95 on orders that are less than $100 (before taxes). No per item fees, no weight-based shipping - just a flat $5.95. AND If you order $100 or more isFREE SHIPPING!   

When Will I Receive My Shipment from Paparazzi?

This all depends on where you are located in the US. Packages are sent via Fedex or USPS.  On the East side of Ohio, it seems to take 5 business days to receive shipments. The closer you are to the headquarters in Utah, the less the transit time will be and vice versa.
